Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Plain Greek Yogurt: (About 500g) Provides a creamy base and a good source of protein. Greek yogurt is thicker and tangier than regular yogurt and higher in protein.
- 1 cup Granola: (About 100g) Adds a delightful crunch and texture. Choose your favorite flavor – honey oat, cinnamon, or nut-based granolas work wonderfully.
- 1 cup Fresh Strawberries: (About 150g) Washed, hulled, and sliced. Strawberries offer sweetness and a vibrant red color, packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants.
- 1 cup Fresh Blueberries: (About 150g) Washed. Blueberries are bursting with antioxidants and add a sweet-tart flavor and beautiful blue hue.
- 1/2 cup Fresh Raspberries: (About 75g) Washed. Raspberries provide a delicate sweetness and slightly tart flavor, adding a touch of elegance and more antioxidants.
- 1 Banana: (Medium size, about 120g) Peeled and sliced. Bananas offer a creamy texture and natural sweetness, rich in potassium and fiber.
- 2 tablespoons Honey or Maple Syrup (Optional): (About 30ml) For added sweetness if desired. Adjust to your taste preference or omit for a naturally sweet parfait.
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Wash and prepare all your fresh fruits. Hull and slice the strawberries, wash the blueberries and raspberries, and peel and slice the banana. Having your ingredients ready beforehand streamlines the assembly process and makes it even quicker.
- Layer the Parfaits: Choose your serving glasses or bowls. Start by adding a layer of Greek yogurt to the bottom of each glass. About 1/4 cup of yogurt per glass is a good starting point, depending on the size of your glasses.
- Add Granola: Sprinkle a layer of granola over the yogurt. The amount will depend on your preference for crunchiness, but about 2-3 tablespoons per glass is usually perfect. This layer adds a wonderful textural contrast to the creamy yogurt.
- Layer Fruits: Now, add a layer of your prepared fruits. You can use a mix of all the fruits or layer them individually. For example, start with strawberries, then blueberries, and then raspberries. Distribute the fruits evenly across the parfaits for a visually appealing and flavorful experience.
- Repeat Layers (Optional): If you are using taller glasses or want a more substantial parfait, you can repeat the layers. Add another layer of yogurt, followed by granola, and then more fruit. Two to three layers are usually sufficient for a satisfying parfait.
- Drizzle with Sweetener (Optional): If you prefer a sweeter parfait, drizzle a small amount of honey or maple syrup over the top layer of fruit. Start with a teaspoon per parfait and adjust to your liking. Remember, the fruits and granola already contribute natural sweetness.
- Serve Immediately or Chill: For the best texture, serve your fruit yogurt parfaits immediately after assembling. If you prefer a colder parfait, you can chill them in the refrigerator for up to 30 minutes before serving. However, keep in mind that the granola might soften slightly if chilled for too long.
- Garnish (Optional): For an extra touch of elegance, you can garnish your parfaits with a few extra berries, a sprinkle of granola, a drizzle of honey, or a fresh mint leaf. This adds a visual appeal and elevates the presentation.
