For the Meatballs
- 1 pound ground beef (or a mixture of beef and pork)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
For the Sweet and Spicy Glaze
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
Instructions
Creating these succulent meatballs is a straightforward process. Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure your dish turns out perfectly:
Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and parsley (if using).
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands or a large spoon until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 2: Bake the Meatballs
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
Step 3: Prepare the Sweet and Spicy Glaze
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, honey, soy sauce, sriracha, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the glaze is smooth and slightly thickened. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4: Coat the Meatballs
- Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.
- Transfer the meatballs to a large bowl and pour the sweet and spicy glaze over them. Gently toss the meatballs until they are evenly coated with the glaze.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve the glazed meatballs immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
