- Heat oil: Pour about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil into a deep skillet and heat over medium-high until the surface shimmers and reaches about 350°F.
- Combine ingredients: In a medium bowl, mix shredded mozzarella with minced garlic, flour, salt, and pepper. Stir until slightly sticky.
- Shape bites: Use a heaping tablespoon to scoop the mixture and roll into compact 1-inch balls.
- Coat bites: Dredge each ball in flour, dip in beaten egg, then press into breadcrumbs.
- Fry bites: Carefully lower into hot oil and cook for 2 minutes each side until golden brown.
- Drain & Serve: Transfer to paper towels and serve immediately while hot.
