How to Make Festive Sugar Cookie Wreaths
  1. Beat softened butter with granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract, until mixture is smooth and glossy.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, then slowly add to butter mixture on low speed.
  4. Shape dough into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill in fridge for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness, cutting circles for wreath shapes.
  6. Arrange cookies on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar with a splash of milk or cream until smooth, adding food coloring to tint.
  9. Spread icing over cooled cookies and sprinkle with festive decorations while icing is still wet.
