- Melt butter in a 10" skillet over medium heat, then add apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cook 5 minutes until apples are tender and syrupy.
- Stir gently, reduce heat to medium-low, and let the mixture bubble softly for 3 minutes.
- While the filling simmers, heat your oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, toss flour, granulated sugar, oats, and a pinch of salt. Cut in cold butter until coarse crumbs form.
- Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apple filling. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
