- Preheat oven: Set to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease.
- Mix base filling: In a bowl, beat cream cheese, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until smooth.
- Add breadcrumbs: Fold in breadcrumbs for texture, plus optional cooked bacon bits or chopped spinach.
- Stuff caps: Spoon 1 generous tablespoon of filling into each mushroom cavity, mounding slightly.
- Bake to perfection: Place mushrooms on the prepared sheet and bake about 20 minutes.
- Garnish & serve: Sprinkle with extra parsley or red pepper flakes, then serve hot.
