How to Make Creamy Potato Au Gratin
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Generously butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Slice Yukon Gold potatoes as thin as 1/8-inch using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- Mix heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and a pinch of onion powder in a bowl until combined.
- Layer half the potato slices in the dish, pour half the cream mixture, then sprinkle with Gruyère and Parmesan. Repeat.
- Bake uncovered at 350°F for 45–50 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese crust is golden brown.
- Rest gratin for 10 minutes before serving to thicken the cream.
